Anyhooooo, as promised, my Italian getaway. Day two started with the Palatine Hill, Roman Forum and finally the Colosseum. If you want to enter the Colosseum without having to queue for hours, I suggest you get a combo ticket at the Palatine Hill. It grants you access for the three places mentioned above, unfortunately, it doesn't come with a guide (extra charges for guides).

We took a lunch break and had pizza! I don't remember the name of the restaurant, though. After lunch, we went into the Colosseum. It's even more glorious inside! Apparently, it could fit 50 000 to 60 000 people! It's so wondrous!

Then we walked to Isola Tiberina, a small, boat-shaped island in Rome and had cappuccino because it was freezing outside!

It was getting pretty dark when we got out. We walked to Piazza Navona, one of Rome's many beautiful plazas :

We walked a little bit more until we reached Piazza di Spagna where the Trinità dei Monti is. Our tummies were already grumbling at this point so we looked for a place to eat. A restaurant which claimed to be providing buffet and drinks for 10€ caught our fancy. The waitress invited us in to see the food, but later she ushered us upstairs to be seated. We were like, WTH? We were just surveying. But none of us wanted to make a scene so we just sat down while she took orders. I asked for à la carte instead and had gnocchi. Then we realized that Italians can be quite persuasive. Thank God the gnocchi was delicious! That kinda made up for everything. We had a rendezvous with some Mexicans, friends of Auro, later after dinner. We met at Piazza di Spagna and went to see Fontana di Trevi, which was even more gorgeous at night! On our way home, we passed by Piazza della Repubblica and again, the Colosseum. And yes, we walked everywhere the whole day!

Day three was Women's Day and all museums in Rome granted free access for the ladies. How lucky, eh? Unfortunately, Vatican City isn't Rome, thus no free entry to Vatican Museum and the Basilica. The ticket was also quite pricey compared to other museums. And we were pretty skeptical about the price because we know our history pretty well; the Church always needs money that they'll do anything to get it from the people, hence the pricey ticket. It costs more than 20€ for the museum, a few more bucks for the basilica and the garden. So, nobody wanted to go in so we just took pictures and then went somewhere else.

We then walked to Castel Sant'Angelo and since it was sunny, we took a seat at a nearby bench and enjoyed the sun for a while. Plus, it was Mardi Gras, there were people in costumes, most were kids so we kinda just sat there and looked at passers-by. Eventually, when we had enough, we continued walking until we saw a carousel and decided to get on it. I guess that's the most enjoyable thing we did that day. After the ride, we walked to Piazza del Popolo where the music was played at maximum volume and some people were dancing to it. Later that afternoon, we finally got to the Pantheon. We had McDonald's for dinner that night because we were exhausted. We couldn't think of where to eat anymore. LOL.

I think that's all for today. I'll write about the fourth day soon because this entry is getting kinda long. Anyways, hope you enjoy the photos! Toodles!~
